XT33 Series DISK RECORDER – Version 10.05 - Software Technical Reference
EVS Broadcast Equipment SA – July 2011
1.4.6 3 D & 1080P MANAGEMENT
3D CONFIGURATION
With the 3D feature, one or two physical cameras will record the same scene with
a slightly different angle to mimic the angle difference between the human eyes.
The configuration is allowed through the codes 23 or 24, and activated in the
Channels Configuration screen via the 3D option. See also the section ‘3D’, on
page 18.
1080P CONFIGURATION
With the 1080p feature, one physical camera makes it possible to get the
progressive image scan with a vertical resolution of 1080 pixels.
The configuration is allowed through the codes 21 or 22, and activated in the
AVCFG when you select the 1080p video standard in the AVCFG main screen. See
also the section ‘Video & Audio Area’, on page 43.
PRINCIPLE
The 3D and 1080p configurations can be used on XT3 servers, which are fitted
with V3X boards, using one of the following connection interfaces:
• Dual Link interface, that is to say two physical channels (recorders or players)
seen by the EVS server as one logical channel.
For each pair of physical channels, only one logical channel is assigned in the
Channels Configuration. Such configurations require the record and playout on
synchronous channels.
• 3G interface, that is to say a single physical channel that corresponds to the
logical channel.
Important
The Dual Link or 3G interface corresponds to the physical connection on
the rear panel of the EVS server.
Whatever the interface used for the connection to the rear panel, each
logical 3D or 1080p channel uses both primary and secondary links of a
codec module (COD A or COD B) on the corresponding V3X board.
